Executive Branch consists of:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Cabinet
  • White House Staff

Executive Branch responsibilities:

  • Approves or Vetoes Laws
  • Makes Treaties
  • Writes the Nation's Budget
  • Appoints Supreme Court Justices

Legislative Branch consists of:

  • House of Representatives
  • Senate

Legislative Branch responsibilities:

  • If 2/3 of the House and Senate agree, they can pass a law even if the President vetoes it.
  • Declares War
  • Can impeach a president or vice president
  • Must approve all Supreme Court Justices

Judicial Branch consists of:

  • Supreme Court
  • Chief Justice
  • Justices

Judicial Branch responsibilities:

  • Decides if laws are unconstitutional
  • Decides the meanings of laws
  • Can rule that a decision made by the president is unconstitutional

    3. Tobacco, corn, soybeans are cash crops
    4. Land is good for cattle, dairy cows, and walking horses
  4. East TN
    1. Mountainous area
    2. Great Smoky Mts. and Cumberland Mts. cover this area
    3. Knoxville and Chattanooga are largest cities
  5. TN has a temperate climate
    1. TN averages 50 inches of rain per year
    2. Location and elevation will determine differences in climate
  6. TN natural resources
    1. Coal
    2. Limestone
    3. Water for electricity
